There I learned the basics of periodization methods for off-season, pre-season, and in-season training programs. I worked under the head trainer for the Sacramento Kings and the head trainer for the Sacramento Monarchs. From these two professionals, I learned how to train and earn the respect of clients making millions of dollars in the NBA, WNBA, and MLB.
Full Professional ExperienceSpending five years at Biancani Fitness, I developed skills to run large groups in plyometrics, agility, and resistance training. Working along side a physical therapist, I also gained experienced working with athletes trying to rehab from an injury. This experience was critical because athletes unfortunately will be injured, which prohibit certain movements. A trainer needs to know how to modify exercises to keep the athletes safe yet active as I have discovered and applied.
As I continued my education in the Sacramento State graduate program for Strength and Conditioning, I then moved on to Pure Athletics, an athlete performance program in Folsom, CA. There I worked on teaching younger athletes how to be more functionally efficient with their athletic movements. I learned how to create strength, balance, and coordination while using a proprioceptive enriched environment. This type of training is essential for younger athletes trying to find their balance and coordination while going through growth spurts.
While training at Pure Athletics, I was hired as an instructor for the AOS Advanced Health & Fitness program at Bryan College. This allowed me to familiarize myself with various training protocols that I was responsible for teaching to students. The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), and the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) were programs that I instructed, only furthering my knowledge base. I was able to identify the most effective tools from each major training program and apply it to my clients.
My intense programs are cringed upon by clients during the sessions, but then admired after results appear!!! The comments from parents and athletes alike, recognize my program's results, "Coach T is Real!"
